Career Networking Group

EVERYONE is welcome!

The NPC Career Networking Group meets on the 3rd Monday of each month; in Ettenger Hall at 7:00pm. We are a non-sectarian group run by people who have “been there.” We understand what you and your family are going through AND what you can do to help find your next job. We offer experience, information, support, advice, topical speakers and, sometimes, tough love, to our friends, family and neighbors, who are unemployed, underemployed or simply looking to network. Our members (60+ and growing) represent a diverse cross section of experience, education, backgrounds, verticals, job levels and job titles.

Since September, 2010, we have conducted seminars on topics such as:

  • “How to utilize job boards to your advantage”
  • “How to stand out in an Application Tracking System”
  • “Developing your Elevator Pitch”
  • “Effective resume writing”
  • “Creating an effective cover letter”
  • “LinkedIn 101, an intro”
  • “Using LinkedIn to find your next job”
  • “Personal Branding”

While we try to follow an agenda, we often get side-tracked by more pressing needs of our members in their search for new opportunities. We encourage the sharing of jobs and information, and open round-table discussions. Often, the best advice comes from someone else’s experience. EVERYONE is welcome!

Anyone with information regarding current opportunities; who KNOWS anyone with hiring authority; or, who simply wants to help, is encouraged to participate or contact us with specific information.
